Eat Drink and Be Merry

Welcome back to another edition of The High Life.

We have new developments to share with you, including a prestigious partnership that is a great endorsement of Highstreet World's continual development. Our team is hard at work to bring you even more layers of entertainment, exploration, and excitement in the metaverse, and our most recent announcement certainly adds a new dimension to Highstreet City.

Let's dive in.

The Hottest Restaurants Will Be in the Metaverse

Potions, heart pieces, and red mushrooms with white spots — these are but a few iconic consumables in classic games. In the past, these items were easy to acquire and treated as little more than immediately expended resources, often used to refill your health bar.

But if the metaverse is supposed to be a game changer, then the experience of using consumables should be renewed too.

At Highstreet, we're rethinking the way you and your avatar experience food by introducing a dose of the physical world. Highstreet is making it possible for any restaurant to establish a presence in the metaverse and become a part of our MMO.

The food and beverage industry is in a new era. A great meal isn't confined to the restaurant itself. So much extends beyond the premises, like how we enjoy hearing about where our food was foraged or grown, or how the chef developed special skills to prepare our meals. A great meal feeds all our senses — and sparks our curiosity. That's why the metaverse and VR are perfect for taking great food experiences beyond the table. These are the mediums that can help us experience food as stories and create memorable encounters.

To be clear, we're doing much more than giving restaurants the space to shape their corner of the metaverse. After all, the metaverse is about far more than just gaming. Highstreet World is where any food and beverage establishment can become part of the culture of the metaverse. This means offering new quests and experiences to the adventurers and explorers who will enter Highstreet World, like embarking on adventures to gather rare ingredients that go into a special dish.

We believe this represents a new movement for chefs and restaurateurs that are imaginative and experimental, and that think about food as something beyond what's served on a plate. This not only gives any F&B business a fresh way to connect with new audiences, but also merges their real-world service with the digital realm.

Highstreet x 50 Best

To take this vision even further, Highstreet has become the first-ever metaverse partner of 50 Best, the leading authority in global gastronomy and the international drinks scene. The collaboration will lead food and beverage establishments into the metaverse, starting with gamified restaurant concepts.

Imagine being on a mission to forage, hunt, gather resources, and overcome challenges to assist a world-renowned chef. The rewards involved would not only have in-game bonuses, but also real-world benefits like exclusive bookings or special meal experiences.

Our team was in Las Vegas for the announcement of The World's 50 Best Restaurants for 2024. We hosted an interactive VR zone to demonstrate just how immersive the experience is. There was loads of interest, and we were able to connect with all sorts of innovators in the food and beverage space.

We're incredibly excited to bring this part of Highstreet World into existence, so that restaurants and players can be part of new adventures. In the meantime, check out our teaser trailer showcasing The Elixir, a special restaurant in Highstreet World.

Lore Fragment: Pelicans

You're already familiar with FOMO Ducks, who are some of the inhabitants of Highstreet City. Indeed, the Ducks have harnessed Lunarite as the backbone of their technological prowess, but the ore has strong magical qualities too.

It's another group of avian denizens of Patos, the Pelicans, who have mastered the magical ways of Lunarite. Pelicans have found a way to feel the communicative emissions of the ore. This is achieved by lifelong discipline in developing their inner peace and spiritual balance, which is only possible because of their lengthy lifespans, which are much longer than those of Ducks.

By communing with Lunarite, Pelicans can appear to cast spells. This process involves moving their wings in tune with Lunarite vibrations to manipulate their frequencies, in turn influencing the effects on the physical world. Pelicans are willing to share these skills, and in fact tried to share them with the first FOMO Ducks that arrived Solera. However, Ducks simply are unable to manipulate Lunarite vibrations in the same way as Pelicans.

This is perhaps the biggest reason for Ducks to pursue technological development with Lunarite at the core.

We believe the metaverse is the next frontier for restaurants that are looking for stronger connections with their audiences. And for the Highstreet community, the presence of these establishments adds to the fun and adventures in Highstreet World.
